Why the Name Changed from Pokemon Sunset to Pokemon Lazarus

The game was first called Pokemon Sunset, but the creator recently changed it to Pokemon Lazarus. The new name comes from the term “Lazarus Taxa“, which describes species thought to be extinct but later rediscovered. This idea of rediscovery and exploration is a big part of the game’s story and theme.

The game will feature around 350 Pokemon, offering a mix of familiar and new options from generation 1 to 9.

4. Choose From 9 Starters

Players can pick from 9 starter Pokemon, including some fan-favorites from the Alola, Kalos and the Paldea regions

The complete game is planned for 2025, but no exact date has been set yet.

Since the creator is working on this game alone, progress may take some time. But the demo will give fans a chance to experience the game early.
